The Simple Math command allows you to add, subtract, multiply, or divide data in one column with a constant or with data in other selected columns. The destination column for the result is the first available empty column, or any other column you specify in the Simple Math dialog. If you turn on the Generate Formula check box in the Simple Math dialog, a formula is generated in the destination column, and the resulting data is dynamic.
Step 1
Select a column of data for the mathematical formula.
Step 2
Choose Simple Math from the Data menu.
Step 3
On the left side of the Simple Math dialog, select the first variable for the formula.
Step 4
Click the button that corresponds to the operation you want to perform (add, subtract, multiply, or divide).

On the right side of the dialog, select one or more variables to complete the formula.
• To use a constant value rather than another column to complete the formula, enter a value next to the K = option.
Step 6
Click the Generate Formula check box if you want to generate a formula in the destination column, then click OK.
